How many permissions does a browser app need?

Why does a browser app need so many permissions? This is quite typical of most browser app, not just the one shown below. With HTML5, web pages can do a lot more than just display stuff and this has given browsers a license to be a lot more intrusive. I have ensured that Subhash Browser does not ask more permissions than it requires. It requires disk access because it needs to store web feeds locally for offline reading. It also allows users to change the name of the app from Subhash Browser to [insert name] Browser and install a shortcut with that name. People should pay attention to permissions they give to apps. Soon, all apps will be asking for all available permissions making this concept totally irrelevant to the user.
